The Sunrise

The Sunrise

We rise to meet the sunrise
Just behind night’s sparkling dew
And behold a glorious morning glow
That brings us hearts’ renew

We list to softening afterglow
As stars recede to hide
Within the billowing, silken clouds
Unfolding as the rushing tide

If we could simply be as one
With all God’s glorious best
We’d bend our knee, and bow our head
A flood of thanks to fill our breast
