The Pen

The Pen

The pen is mightier than the sword.

This I know,

For when I have lashed out and slain

The mighty demons

That oppress my soul,

What truly has relieved my pain

Tis not the sword nor any other

Weapon made by man,

But rather talking with the Lord

And listening for His word,

Then taking up my pen,

Not the sword.

May I always be willing

To use my pen,

Not to change men’s minds

But to free them

From their self-induced fetters,

As did Paul’s letters.
