Learning to Listen
Lord when I open up my
Heart for You to come inside
I am who I am meant to be
By Your love magnified.
The broken-open heart must feel
The pain of the incision
Before it learns to settle down
And nest within Your holy vision.
The humble heart accepts Your grace
To turn the head from thinking,
To dwell with You in silent space
While worldly aims are sinking.
We’ll find our path in quiet times,
No clock or calendar to rule us
Just peace beyond all human guise
No worldly wiles that fool us
The man-made institutions
Can
no longer bring solutions.
